MICE Beamline Precommissioning and TOF Calibration : 29/4/2015¶
The purpose of the run is to:¶
- Complete April 25/26 weekend run plan
- Take TOF calibration data
- Test TOF gains vs applied voltage dependence

Beamline Configurations¶
- Decay Solenoid is be available
- We expect to be running with 2V beamloss and beam bump active.
Preparation¶
- We will run beam into the hall so need to secure the MICE Hall
- Target needs to be ready
- BeamLine elements need to be ready
- Detectors need to be ready
- Controls needs to be ready
- DAQ needs to be ready
- OnMon and OnRec need to be ready
- Data Mover needs to be ready

Task 5 : Beamline pre-commissioning (search for improved upstream setting for muon beam)¶
- The main goal of these activities is to search for settings to improve muon rate by changing matching into the DS.
- The trigger needs to be set at TOF0.
- We need short runs of 500 target pulses

TOF Calibration run¶
- The beam line will be set for TOF Calibration run
- The goal will be to take 10000 target pulses.
- In order to study the apparent TOF gain problem Durga wants to lower the HV on the
- TOF PMTs by a small amount to check that the gains follow the voltage
- Lower the voltage on the TOF PMTs by 10% and do a TOF run
- REMEMBER TO RAISE THE VOLTAGES TO NOMINAL AGAIN
