The purpose of the run is to:

  • Complete April 25/26 weekend run plan
  • Take TOF calibration data
  • Test TOF gains vs applied voltage dependence

  • Decay Solenoid is be available
  • We expect to be running with 2V beamloss and beam bump active.

Preparation

  • We will run beam into the hall so need to secure the MICE Hall
  • Target needs to be ready
  • BeamLine elements need to be ready
  • Detectors need to be ready
  • Controls needs to be ready
  • DAQ needs to be ready
  • OnMon and OnRec need to be ready
  • Data Mover needs to be ready

Task 5 : Beamline pre-commissioning (search for improved upstream setting for muon beam)

  • The main goal of these activities is to search for settings to improve muon rate by changing matching into the DS.
  1. The trigger needs to be set at TOF0.
  2. We need short runs of 500 target pulses

TOF Calibration run

  1. The beam line will be set for TOF Calibration run
  2. The goal will be to take 10000 target pulses.
  3. In order to study the apparent TOF gain problem Durga wants to lower the HV on the
  4. TOF PMTs by a small amount to check that the gains follow the voltage
  1. Lower the voltage on the TOF PMTs by 10% and do a TOF run
  2. REMEMBER TO RAISE THE VOLTAGES TO NOMINAL AGAIN
