4
5
15:00 Target preparation for BPS test
6
17:00 Start pre-requisites
7
18:00 Hall Activities end: PRY Construction DS Service
8
18:00 Start search and secure
9
19:00 Start BPS Test Procedure
10
20:00 Start Target/Beambump tuning

h2. Activities
13
14 4 Boyd, Steven
h3. BPS Functional test (Craig Macwaters/Ed Overton/Dean Adams)
15 1 Nebrensky, Henry
16
* Prepare target (frame raised) - 2 hrs
17
* Work through BPS test procedure
18
19 4 Boyd, Steven
h3. Target Tuning (to be confirmed by Ed Overton / Dean Adams)
20 1 Nebrensky, Henry
21
# Work through the target check list and get the target operational with the target frame raised. – 30 mins
22
# Run target in ISIS at MS/128 for reference - 30 mins
23
# ISIS double Machine Start frequency - 10 mins
24
# Check that the target’s insertion aligns with the correct ISIS spill. The target will be operating at the double dip rate. – 10 mins
25
# Stop operating the target and lower the target frame. Ensure that the target insertion depth is small. (Large BCD) – 10 mins
26
# With the beam bump on steadily increase the insertion depth (reduce BCD) until we obtain the required 2 V beamloss. – 1 to 2 hours depending
27
28
h3. 700 MeV Beamloss/Yield (Henry Nebrensky)
29
30
For say 0.5V and 2V loss
31
* Run target at steady depth, for 50 pulses
32
* Record accumulated Luminosity Monitor counts off TV scaler
33
* Compare with Beamline paper to predict expected rate in upcoming runs
34 3 Nebrensky, Henry
35
h3. BLOC Training (Henry Nebrensky)
36
37
* Observe target tuning process
38
* Shift delays around, etc.
39
* Start-up/Shutdown practice
