Target and Trigger timing + ToF calibration readiness - 8th March 2015¶
The purpose of the run is to:¶
- time the target into the ISIS beam
- time the ToF into the ISIS beam
- BLOC training
- Get the system to a state where ToF (and CKOV) Calibration data can be taken

Shifter hours of service:¶
- Request 1/2 hour shifter overlap for target frame operation training
Data Requested¶
- Reference Run: 6-200 setting w/out DS and PA at 29mm
- Propose to use a pion+ run for data rate studies
Beamline Configurations¶
- N.B. Decay Solenoid will not be available.
- We expect to be running with 2V beamloss and beam bump active.

Preparation¶
- We will run beam into the hall so need to secure the MICE Hall
- Target needs to be ready
- BeamLine elements need to be ready
- Detectors need to be ready
- Controls needs to be ready
- DAQ needs to be ready
- OnMon and OnRec need to be ready
- Data Mover needs to be ready
Target activity (to be confirmed by Paul Smith)¶
- Work through the target check list and get the target operational with the target frame raised. – 30 mins
- Run target in ISIS at MS/128 for reference - 30 mins
- ISIS double Machine Start frequency - 10 mins
- Check that the target’s insertion aligns with the correct ISIS spill. The target will be operating at the double dip rate. – 10 mins
- Stop operating the target and lower the target frame. Ensure that the target insertion depth is small. (Large BCD) – 10 mins
- With the beam bump on steadily increase the insertion depth (reduce BCD) until we obtain the required 2 V beamloss. – 1 to 2 hours depending

Finish¶
- Shutdown target and re-open Hall for Monday
