Target Gate Valve (draft)¶

Before opening or closing the Target Gate Valve, you must obtain permission from BOTH:

• the Beamline Co-ordinator (Henry) and/or the MICE Target Group
• the ISIS vacuum group (Geoff Matthews)

Closing Gate Valve (BLOC or ISIS expert only)¶

You will require the Gate Valve keys which are kept in the MOM keypress.

At target vac-rack:

• Confirm "Target Frame Enable Key" MTENBL has been removed and returned to ISIS MCR
• Confirm Target Frame is raised - "Target Out" lit
• Insert and turn Close Valve key in Close Gate Valve switch
• Press Close Vacuum Valve button - "Vacuum Valve Closed" should illuminate
• Update eLog and Web_Whiteboard

Opening Gate Valve (ISIS expert only)¶

You will require the Gate Valve keys which are kept in the MOM keypress.

• Confirm vacuum within the target enclosure - this means connecting a pump rig...

At target vac-rack:

• Confirm "Target Frame Enable Key" MTENBL has been removed and returned to ISIS MCR
• Confirm Target Frame is raised - "Target Out" lit
• Insert and turn Open Valve key in Open Vacuum Valve switch - "Vacuum Valve Opened" should illuminate
• Update eLog and Web_Whiteboard
