Conventional Magnets - things to mention in eLog¶
The power supply Status panel will tell you why it has tripped off. If unsure, assume a "Power Supply (or other) Issue". What you should check and note down in a dedicated eLog entry:
Conventional Magnet - Thermal Issue¶
- Time
- Set Current
- Inlet cooling water temperature
- Loading-Bay chiller output temperature
- Temperature difference across magnet
- Temperature differences across other magnets - any abnormal?
- Water flow through power supply
- Was it the Magnet, or the Power Supply ("MPS") that overheated?
Conventional Magnet - Earth Leakage Failure¶
- Time
- Set Current
- Inlet cooling water temperature
- Conductivity of water
- Water leak in trench (Hall Environment Summary)?
- Weather - outside air temperature
- MICE Hall activity - e.g. are other magnets ramping?
- ISIS activity - e.g. recovering from trip
- Neutron Monitor reading
