Protocol for removing the Beamstop Frame¶
A metal frame is used to prevent the Moving Beamstop from being opened accidentally or sagging in case of hydraulic failure. In late 2015/early 2016 we were able to get the conditions for removing and replacing this frame relaxed, in agreement with Paul Wright (site RPA) and the MICE-ISIS Safety Management meeting.
The agreed protocol for removing and replacing the restraint frame is given at the end of BSrestraintRemoval-v3.PDF and has been approved by the GLIMOS.
The detailed actions needed to open and close the beamstop continue to be covered in the Beamstop User Guide .
