Analysis Job description¶
I have written up a job description for analysis group and outlined how I think this should be divvied up. Logic is:
- I want to understand what I am responsible for
- We need to front load the analysis
- We will only get one short go at data taking
- Understand analysis in advance
- Head off basic issues with getting the right data set
- This will only happen if I allocate a WBS i.e. give people responsibility to decide what we want to do
- at detailed level of e.g. what magnet currents
- with analysis to support decisions (e.g. how do we reduce systematics etc)
- Note a consequence is that the data plan will need modification
- We will only get one short go at data taking
- I would like to announce this structure at VC
- I need people in place before christmas to coordinate these activities
- Endorsement by MEMO today?
- Endorsement by EB on Friday
- Begin search for coordinators
- This is what MICE is about, it should be easy (haha)

- ACTION (Pasternak/Rogers): determine magnetic settings routine - do we imagine "equivalent coil"? Implement iron in MAUS? Run everything through OPERA?
- ACTION (Pasternak/Rogers): determine standard magnetic settings for commissioning e.g. magnet currents for 420 mm beta in solenoid mode
