GEOM 110213¶
Monday 11 February at 15.00 GMT
- Geometry (Matt Littlefield)
- Geometry Verification (S Ricciardi)
- Absorbers (P Snopok)
- CAD Models (J Tarrant)
- Detector Groups: Tracker (C. Heidt)
- Magnets (Victoria Blackmore)
- AOB
Proposed date of next meeting Monday 4th March at 3pm GMT -
Actions from Previous Meeting¶
- ACTION: Matt to upload Jason's CAD model to DB to have a first version of STEP IV geometry in a MAUS release.
Diffuser and cooling channel in two separate CAD files to be merged.- IN PROGRESS
- ACTION: Discuss ID/time-stamp of MC ideal geometries with Anthony W.(Stefania)
- DECISION use a time-stamp in the past,e.g., Year 1974 of ideal STEP IV, 1975 for ideal Step V, etc.
- STANDS
- ACTION: Stefania to check how much time/particle/s with CAD geometry on RAL Tier2 (Matt reports 2.8 s/particle on his laptop)
- WAITING for CAD model to be made available in MAUS release
- ACTION: Store all tracker geometry in CDB (Chris->Matt->Ryan)
- IN PROGRESS. Chris has written gdml description. Matt has produced a transfer script. Ryan will familiarise with the system and upload to CDB.
- STANDS Chris to remove diffuser supports and SOLENOID from tracker geometry description as it will be simulated by CAD
- ACTION: Improving TRACKER Geometry description - fibres outside fiducial region (Heidt)
- STANDS (postponed to January)
- ACTION: GEANT4 warning messages when geometry from CAD import is used (Ryan and Matt)
- STANDS
- ACTION: Produce geometry documentation for code developpers and pass information to Ryan (Matt)
- IN PROGRESS
- ACTION: Victoria Blackmore to implement magnet field map interface (Victoria)
- STANDS
- ACTION: Invite Gene Kafka to report on Cherenkov geometry(Stefania)
- STANDS
- ACTION: Stefania to speak to Jason about Henry's request of clarification about survey procedure.
- NEW
Notes¶
Ryan: Geometry uploaded to the testDB based on files produced by CAD (Jason) before Christams.
Problems:1. too many details in CAD model, 2. missing rotation (CAD still using x as beam axis)
Present:¶
Chris R., Chris H., Ryan, Stefania
