GEOM280414¶
- Geometry Software Development (Ryan Bayes)
- Geometry Validation and Task Force Coordination (Stefania Ricciardi)
- CAD Models (Jason Tarrant)
- Detector Groups: Tracker (Chris Heidt), EMR (Ruslan), KL (Mariyan Bogomilov), Cherenkov (Lucien Cremaldi),Absorbers (Pavel Snopok)
- Magnetic Fields (Victoria Blackmore)
- AOB
Agenda¶
- Updates on software development
- Validation
- Geometry release plans
- AOB
Discussion Items¶
- Diffuser settings: got MAUS modules of diffuser settings from Victoria, translating files to GDML so that they can be uploaded to CDB, but they do not contain blades. Blades CAD design given to Jason. Need specifications of thickness of blades and positions to simulate.
- EMR group committed the geometry description to MAUS, not committed yet to DB. Hold off until there is a MAUS release with EMR digitisation working.
- Tracker ok, Cherenkov still legacy
- survey-detector position sign off (still not done)- talk to survey people?
- Work in progress towards a geometry for debug purposes only which contains only on-axis elements.
- magnetic field, implemented solenoidal model, but some scaling was missing. Now maybe a sign is mixed up in one of the coils (see validation plots)
- a number of extra peaks shown in the energy-loss profile (vs z), some introduced by FastRad.
- Ryan to produce three new geometries: step I, STEP IV, and STEP-IV debug (all without EMR for the moment, but with hopefully all extra material removed and magnetic field corrected)
