GEOM270514¶
- Geometry Software Development (Ryan Bayes)
- Geometry Validation and Task Force Coordination (Stefania Ricciardi)
- CAD Models (Jason Tarrant)
- Detector Groups: Tracker (Chris Heidt), EMR (Ruslan), KL (Mariyan Bogomilov), Cherenkov (Lucien Cremaldi),Absorbers (Pavel Snopok)
- Magnetic Fields (Victoria Blackmore)
- AOB
Agenda¶
- Updates on software development
- Time issues
- Validation
- Geometry release plans
- AOB
Discussion Items¶
- Diffuser settings: Ryan has got all information (thickness and positions) needed to generate the disks. Configuration tables in CDB needed to pull down automatically the correct configuration for each run (as for currents)
- EMR group committed the geometry description to MAUS, Ryan should implement EMR in the geometry in next release
- few extra peaks left in the energy-loss profile (vs z): peak at 19745 introduced by FastRad; small peak around 16500mm was investigated by Jason and found to be due to asymmetric absorber window.
- Plan for addressing the time issues with MC (geometry taking 30min to upload, about 20s/event) - New GEANT version does not help with speed. Abandon FastRad modelling and use primitive solids? GDML directly instead of MAUS Modules? Simplified geometry? See document in attachment.
- Plan to release anyhow STEP IV geometry in release 0.8.5 before the end of JUNE (with EMR, Diffuser, new Cherenkov files).
