GEOM241114¶
- Geometry Software Development (Ryan Bayes)
- Geometry Validation and Task Force Coordination (Stefania Ricciardi)
- CAD Models (Jason Tarrant)
- Detector Groups: Tracker (Chris Heidt), EMR (Ruslan), KL (Mariyan Bogomilov), Cherenkov (Lucien Cremaldi),Absorbers (Pavel Snopok)
- Magnetic Fields (Victoria Blackmore)

Present¶
Stefania, Ryan
Standing Actions from previous meetings¶
- ACTION: Improving TRACKER Geometry description - fibres outside fiducial region (Heidt)
- STANDS
- ACTION: Victoria Blackmore to implement magnet field map interface (Victoria)
- STANDS
- ACTION: Ruslan to provide relation between survey points and centre (?) first EMR plane
- STANDS
- ACTION: RYAN to provide interface to fit for best detector positions, given survey points, to place all volumes.
- DONE - Needs detector responsible sign off on relation between survey nests and detector
- ACTION: Ryan to udpate MAUS USER GUIDE
- IN PROGRESS
- ACTION: Ryan to investigate how to reduce geometry load-time
- IN PROGRESS - Provisional success for geometries without overlapping volumes.
- ACTION: PRY plates to be incorporated in TOF1, TOF2 shielding for STEP IV (JASON). This replaces the TOF cages which should not be used.
- STANDS (additional shielding may be needed for TOF1)
Notes¶
- Ryan writing translation algorithm to avoid manipulation. He is writing a script which takes Jason files, divided by material definition, and groups them in position-derived modules. Discussion on whether this script should act at download time from the CDB, as originally thought by Ryan, or upload time, as suggested by Stefania, so that we have a record on the CDB on the actual geometry used from simulation, which otherwise would become MAUS release dependent.
- Found flow in the CDB logic: STEP IV geometry was downloaded instead of geometry by run. Solution: assign to ideal geometries a date in the future instead of a date in the past, i.e., 2034 for STEP IV. All previous geometry will be purged from CDB
- Future work: implement gdml parser and test latest CAD model by Jason. Follow up issue with preproduction server.
