GEOM230614¶
- Geometry Software Development (Ryan Bayes)
- Geometry Validation and Task Force Coordination (Stefania Ricciardi)
- CAD Models (Jason Tarrant)
- Detector Groups: Tracker (Chris Heidt), EMR (Ruslan), KL (Mariyan Bogomilov), Cherenkov (Lucien Cremaldi),Absorbers (Pavel Snopok)
- Magnetic Fields (Victoria Blackmore)
- AOB
Agenda¶
- Updates on software development
- Time issues
- Validation
- Geometry release plans
- AOB
Discussion Items¶
- RF cavities drawing ready for STEP V simulation by Jason.
- Diffuser settings: Ryan has got all information (thickness and positions) needed to generate the disks. Configuration tables in CDB needed to pull down automatically the correct configuration for each run (as for currents). Diffuser irises not yet in CDB, but can be soon (tonight) - Translation file in MAUS needed to insert correct irises position (it will be in RYAN Maus branch, no need to recompile).
- A magnetic field correction is needed for D2, to be included in next CDB IDs.
- Window missing in solenoid bore (?) to be double-checked by Jason
- PRY plates to be included in simulation of STEP IV - they replace TOF cages which have to be removed (Jason)
- EMR group committed the geometry description to MAUS. EMR available in CBD since configuration ID 28
- Plan for addressing the time issues with MC (geometry taking 30min to upload, about 20s/event) - New GEANT version does not help with speed. Abandon FastRad modelling and use primitive solids? GDML directly instead of MAUS Modules? Simplified geometry? Ryan investigating GDML option, which looks promising. Decision on July 22nd (last date for Ryan before A/L).
- Plan to release anyhow STEP IV geometry before the end of JUNE (with EMR, Diffuser, old legacy Cherenkov files).
Standing Actions¶
- ACTION: Improving TRACKER Geometry description - fibres outside fiducial region (Heidt)
- STANDS
- ACTION: Victoria Blackmore to implement magnet field map interface (Victoria)
