Agenda

Discussion Items

- Diffuser settings: got MAUS modules of diffuser settings from Victoria, translating files to GDML so that they can be uploaded to CDB, but they do not contain blades. Blades CAD design given to Jason. Need specifications of thickness of blades and positions to simulate.
Jason in contact with Oxford, will be in the position to provide thickness and positions to Ryan, who will make the gdml.
- PRY to be incorporated in TOF1, TOF2 shielding for STEP IV
- EMR group committed the geometry description to MAUS, not committed yet to DB. Hold off until there is a MAUS release with EMR digitisation working.
- few extra peaks left in the energy-loss profile (vs z): peak at 19745 introduced by FastRad; small peak around 16500mm to be investigated by Jason
- validation: absorber can be changed by hand, LiH energy loss compatible with expected and similar to TOF1 (polystyrene and LiH have very similar density, also thickness is similar: LiH65mm)
Request to produce plots off axis, to make further checks (specifically quadrupoles fields, but also energy loss to see whether there are other strange FastRad features).
Visualisation can also help check material budget. Problem of overlapping volumes, for example where there are screws (no holes for the screws, because we are working with simplified models). Jason to produce models without screws and Ryan provide a set of visualisations.
- LH2 bug found by Ryan in MAUS 0.8.3 , will be fixed in next MAUS release
- We need a plan for addressing the time issues with MC (geometry taking 30min to upload, about 20s/event) - Abandon FastRad modelling and go back to legacy file? GDML directly instead of MAUS Modules? (not an easy change)
