Agenda¶
- Geometry Updates (GDML parser, magnetic fields, TOF1 geometry, survey and CAD)
- Review of Actions
- AOB

Ryan, Dimitri, Stefania
Standing Actions (revised 9/3/2015)¶
- ACTION: Improving TRACKER Geometry description - fibres outside fiducial region (Heidt)
- STANDS (Ryan to ask Chris whether this is still to be considered)
- ACTION: Victoria Blackmore to implement magnet field map interface (Victoria)
- STANDS (D2 map already exists, not SS)
- ACTION: Francois to provide relation between survey points and centre (?) first EMR plane
- STANDS
- ACTION: RYAN to provide interface to fit for best detector positions, given survey points, to place all volumes.
- DONE - Needs detector responsible sign off on relation between survey nests and detector (TOF ok, but position of TOF2 nests may change)
- ACTION: Ryan to udpate MAUS USER GUIDE
- IN PROGRESS
- ACTION: Ryan to investigate how to reduce geometry load-time
- DONE - GDML parser brought to work
- ACTION: PRY plates to be incorporated in TOF1, TOF2 shielding for STEP IV (JASON). This replaces the TOF cages which should not be used.
- STANDS (TOF cages already removed. Some shielding already present between TOF1 and magnet. Additional shielding may be needed for TOF1. Will see next CAD iterations)
Notes¶
- Geometry with GDML parser works (3min upload time) except for a configuration variable that does not behave as expected (to upload only detectors, if one wants to run a even simpler geometry). Problem with sensitive detectors solved.
- Problem of placing magnetic field wrt to magnet material (solved at iteration 0): problem of bridging the gap between the magnetic field maps coordinate system and hall coordinate system; problem of setting it up in an automatic way to avoid human intervention.
- Problem of beamline settings: default D2 field current does not match those in quadrupole. Introduce a facility that sets currents according to a tag (a predefined run-setting in CDB).
- New survey coordinates: rotation + translation in z. It should not affect software once incorporated into the CAD. Need to check with Jason. There will be different TOF1 surveys, before and after PRY installation.
- TOF1 geometry. Changes in the orientation of the planes. First upstream plane is now horizontal. Fine in software (never changed!)
