Track point magnetic field information

Description
It would be very useful if it was possible to extract the magnetic field (components and/or total field) used to reconstruct a track. Ideally, I'd like to see this at each tracker station (since we no longer have a uniform field, a 'mean' field measurement isn't suitable). This would allow us to check the assumed field with the field measured by the Hall probes.
(I consider this pretty essential for the analysis of 7469, and would definitely want this information for other field-on analyses)

Has this been done? I think I have seen plots from Victoria with this comparison but I may be wrong.

Victoria, there were a couple of emails from Chris Rogers and Chris Hunt, on this topic. The last one from Chris Hunt suggested there was a possible answer to the question already available in MAUS, depending on the exact data that you wanted. I did not see an answer to Chris's email. Is the problem solved? or do we need to do some work to close it.
We went through this during private discussions at the last workshop.
bin/examples/make_field_map.py can produce a field map and can easily be adapted.
Would this be enough for other users?
I'm happy to provide a recipe. Note that if you try to run the script on the geometry which downloads with the analysed run root file then it will not work. There are hardcoded links between the geometry files which mean that it will only work if you reproduce the directory tree of the system on which the original analysis job was run. I looked at putting together a script to modify either then geometry files or to use symbolic links to imitate the tree. But there are at least two different ways the directory links are put in the geometry files and so I decided downloading the geometry directly was easier
