Description

If one runs bin/examples/load_root_file.py (or its cpp counterpart), the histograms produced (tof1_digits_*_load_root_file.png) are empty in 0.9.7. They were showing meaningful histograms in the previous versions (I checked against 0.9.2, PNG attached).

The example attempts to reconstruct Step I data and falls over. I guess there is a problem that the default data set is Step I data (as defined in datacards). Is there any way to update this? Is there a better data set to use?

Why was there no problem in version 0.9.2 then?

0.9.2 was set up to unpack Step I data; 0.9.7 is set up to unpack Step IV data.

I found a nice little daq data file, run 07166.000, which contains good step IV data for all dectors except EMR, but is only 40MB. I'll add it to MAUS; Chris when it is in, could you adapt the examples to use it please? Data file as binary and processed ROOT file attached.

Rather than adding it to the trunk, do you think you could use third_party/bash/71test_data.bash do download it? Keep the trunk small...
