Feature #1607
Getting a position and error from KL reconstruction for global reconstruction
0%
Description
For global reconstruction the position of hits in the KL needs to be known. From the KL reconstruction as is, it is possible to get the cell in which the hit occurred, from which it would be possible to convert this to a rough y position, and a z position could be set based upon the position of the KL in the geometry. However, if there was a way to obtain some kind of position (and error) for hits in the KL within the global coordinate system, then this would be ideal.

Durga, are you currently overseeing KL? Any thoughts on Celeste's query? Thanks...

Adam -- I don't oversee it. But I'm happy to look into a solution for this [ which Mariyan or John could implement ].
Can you point me to how it is done for the tracker? i.e. going from local coordinates to global ones?
It seems to me that sort of translation would be something we'd want for all detectors and could best be served by a common utility function?
