Description

The phase advance calculation in legacy transfer map correctly calculates phi in domain 0 -> pi using the trace of the TransferMap. It is possible to calculate correctly in domain 0 -> 2 pi using the full 2*2 transfer matrix by rearranging S.Y.Lee eqn 2.51 - cos(phi) is wrapped in the diagonal terms, sin(phi) in the off diagonals...
