During the software workshop Chris R. asked me to put together a list of actions on MICE software/hardware/simulation for the relevant people at IIT. Here is my attempt to address that request, your feedback is greatly appreciated. After the software meeting and CM31 combined the list looks to me as follows. |
---|---|
2 |
|
3 |
All: |
4 |
|
5 |
Participate in the analysis meeting, regularly report on the relevant issues (solid absorbers, wedge simulations, optics code, etc.). |
6 |
|
7 |
Organize regular local IIT group meetings (phone or Skype). What is the day of the week that works best? I would suggest Fridays, every other week. |
8 |
|
9 |
Durga: |
10 |
|
11 |
I/O for various file formats (g4beamline, for009.dat, etc), to be able to use external particle distributions with MAUS rather than generating one of the standard distributions in the code. |
12 |
|
13 |
Put together a MAUS deck for MICE Step IV with a wedge, simulate the effect of moving the wedge 25 mm upstream just in case we need it. |
14 |
|
15 |
In the long run: repeat all the simulation done in G4MICE in MAUS to make sure there are no surprises. |
16 |
|
17 |
Gene: |
18 |
|
19 |
Complete the current task on the Cherenkov detectors, meanwhile, stay on top of what is going on with the simulations of the wedge absorber. In the long run, take over the Step IV wedge simulations, since it is Gene's proposed dissertation topic. |
20 |
|
21 |
Peter: |
22 |
|
23 |
Clean-up and improve the optics code in MAUS (working with transfer matrices, envelopes, polynomials). Complete the RF acoustic measurement project to be able to spend more time on MICE issues. |
24 |
|
25 |
Pavel: |
26 |
|
27 |
Make sure that the particle selection algorithm for the wedge simulations is working and can be used easily in MAUS. Stay on top of the flat and wedge absorber support engineering issues. Report progress at the analysis meetings. Help Durga get the wedge simulation going in MAUS. |
