Agenda and Minutes

0. Actions

  • Create MICE note of channel mappings end-to-end through hardware, electronics and software. DA, ES, AD, GB
  • Dig up the old documentation for the electronics channel mapping - DA
  • Ask KL, AB, DA about whether it would be helpful to fit LED into TOF to help our timing. EO
  • Hits to digits lookup. CH
  • AD to ask AN if working just outside 300 Gauss line would be enough? - AD Not sufficient

1. Tracker lab - AB, GB, CMacW

  • Electronics operations shifted to Fermilab while DA is there
  • CMacW wants to use lab to store tracker equipment currently spread around RAL

2. LED: EO

  • Make PCB for main flasher unit buffer - EO Schematics done, see attachments
  • Finish main flasher unit - EO, CMacW
  • Ask KL, AB, DA about whether it would be helpful to fit LED into TOF to help our timing. EO
    • EO talked to Maurizio, Maurizio concerned about extra light levels, EO will produce a document for him.

3. Installation

  • Perform metrology on solenoid bore to check clearances, GB talk to John Palin - GB
  • Construct dark room tent in R9 - GB, KLs

4. DAQ/Calibration/Controls: DA, EO

4.1 MiniDAQ

  • MiniDAQ (separate from DATE) now done and tested on set up in tracker lab - DA
  • Needs to be committed to the DAQ repository
  • Still needs a full integration test with main MICE DAQ

4.2 Channel Mappings

  • Check our channel mapping from end to end and make sure correct - DA, AD, ES
  • Dig up the old documentation for the electronics channel mapping - DA See http://micewww.pp.rl.ac.uk/documents/75 by M. Ellis, derived from D0 note not yet found
  • M. Ellis (via P. Kyberd) says it was definitely correct in 2009 in G4MICE - so, was it correctly translated into MAUS? - ES

4.3 Controls

  • Create controls system - DA, MR

5. Services in the MICE hall: CMacW

6. Mitigation of effect of magnetic field: CMacW, MG

  • Need to consider how we will route the waveguides through the yoke (non-trivial) - CMacW
