  • Update MAUS workplan as requested by Durga
  • Ryan:
    - ID17 is a geometry for STEP IV free of magnetic field. Ryan currently working in implementing solenoidal fileds.
    - ID16 is thegeometry to be validated for STEPI
    - Diffuser settings: got MAUS modules of diffuser settings from Victoria, translating files to GDML so that they can be uploaded to CDB
    - EMR: translated to gdml and now in CDB. Needs to be included in MAUS release.
    - integration survey-geometry fit now working also for Cherenkov (tehre was a problem with sign flip in z-coordinate, now solved).
    - Cherenkow mirrors are wrong. Working to fix them.
  • Discussion on time issue: "problem with GEANT 4 handling of tessellated solids". Can we have a geometry for debug purposes only which contains only detector elements? Diffuser an issue? To be discussed next time.
    Another possibility is to use gdml integration directly (skipping MAUS modules) that could cut down the time from 20/40 minutes for spet I/IV to 5 minutes.
  • Durga: proposes to simplify user interface so that the user just specify through datacards what he wants to simulate, than runs the simulate_mice.py; without need to download geometry first. A list of validated geometries needs to be hard-coded. New task for Ryan, low priority.
